My sister, Kerrie, came to visit me in Madrid! (2008)

We have done many things during my sister's week stay in Madrid. Between coffees, teas, and dinners we were certainly kept busy. Kerrie's Spanish also improved with her famous sayings ¿quieres más agua? Encantada! ¿dónde está el baño? I am glad that she got the chance to experience part of what my life has been like for these almost four years in Madrid! It is truly a magical place I would say :) In the pictures (left to right)....First one: Kerrie and I...Second one: Marc, Me, David...Third one: Marc, Kerrie, David....Fourth one: just ME!...Fourth one: David, Kerrie, Marc...

In case you were wondering...Kerrie is eating pig's ear and beans in one of the picture...and well, I am just playing around in the other...

Pablo's paella...yum!

Pablo made paella for the first night that my sister was in Madrid. It was absolutely delicious! In fact, he claims it turned out just like his mother's...and for his first paella, it wasn't bad AT ALL!

Los Reyes - The Three Kings at Nazaret 2008

Every year the non-profit organization that I volunteer at has a party for the children during the Christmas season. Since Spain celebrates the Three Kings (like the States celebrates Santa Claus), we organized Christmas Carols, poetry, and monitors jumping around (we called it dancing) to the tune of a song by Rosana. It was great fun. In the first picture, you can see all of the volunteers after the kids were sent home with their presents. The second is of the three kings, of course. The third is of the kids I led in poetry (about una hormiguita cojita...one-legged ant) from the left: Gilbert, Raquel (only five years old and with the whole thing memorized), Pablo, another Raquel, and María. Rodrigo, Noelia, and Inés were missing that day... Then you have two pictures of us crazy monitors jumping around...if you see someone in red, that is me!

We had all kinds of fun moments...even before the Kings arrived :)
